About Us

My husband and I are excited and anxious as we await our newest family member.  We chose adoption on May 20, 2006, and downloaded our application the day after.  For us, God’s fingerprints were visible in our decision, and He has provided us strength and resilience in our wait.

We sent in our application on May 21, 2006, and concluded with our dossier being logged into China on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 (a mere 7 months later).  As I write this today, 19 months from our starting point with China, I am again renewed in spirit, as we recently submitted a dual application and 2nd complete dossier to Colombia (Nov 14, 2007).

The choice to dual apply was certainly not an easy one.  Were we giving up on our future daughter from China?  Were we usurping God’s authority in our lives?  Great questions, and ones He answered again for us.  It was not that we didn’t want China, nor that we were impatient (although I certainly was, and am at times), but that God was pressing on our hearts to invite a child into our blended family & honor God by accepting His invitation to parent one of His many children.

We have three children from Jim’s first marriage and they patiently wait alongside us for their little brother or sister.  We are blessed to have them in our lives and each day we all wait, our family becomes more of a family…if that’s possible.

Thus, here we are today.  With an approval from the Colombian Adoption Committee for our newest family member!!!
